Hollywood Boulevard is an avenue beginning at Sunset Boulevard. Most people expect to find a glamourous boulevard with movie stars and lined with gorgeous shops. They are inevitably disappointed. Except for the Capitol Records building and Pantages Theatre, and of course the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, there really isn't much exciting stuff awaiting you here.

Melrose Avenue is one of the unique sections of the city. It's funky, new wave, shopping/walking/dining/people-watching area is both bizarre and delightful.

With over 4,210 acres of both natural chapparal-covered terrain and landscaped parkland and picnic areas, Griffith Park is the largest municipal park with urban wilderness area in the United States. Get your swimsuits and sunglasses on kids and take a drive out to the beach. Visit the salty blue waters of the Pacific Ocean or lay out on a towel and get a good Californian tan. Oh, and leave the socks at home, because come on, who wears socks to the beach?

Just down west on the beach, is where the boat rentals are located. You can also go on whale watching boats and rent sailboats. It's a small shack run by an old man with graying hair and a white-gray beard and big glasses. He's the one to talk to about anything having to do with boats. Oh, and you can also rent jet-skis here too.

So it's pretty much like an all year fair, and you can play those fun money wasting games. Maybe throw a ball at some pins, and win your girl a big stuffed toy. Or maybe she'll win you one. Take a ride on the ferric wheel with your lover or best friend and enjoy the oceanic skyline.
